CHILD LEARNING & PLAY
CENTRE COORDINATOR

(Maternity Leave Term)
The Child Learning & Play Centre (CLPC) Coordinator position that
is responsible for planning and implementing a safe, healthy and
nurturing program and facility for children ages 0-6 years old.
The CLPC Coordinator will report directly to the First Nation Manager.
The CLCP Coordinator will engage on a regular basis with the Health
and Social Services Coordinator. The CLCP Coordinator will lead and
implement programs and experiences for children who are enrolled
at the Child Learning and Play Centre. The CLCP Coordinator will
interact with children, parents and caregivers.
Salary to commensurate with qualifications and experience; full
benefits package available.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Post-secondary education in Early Childhood

Education preferred or 5+ years’ experience working within child
education or currently enrolled in a relevant program;

  • Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act;
  • Current First Aid and CPR (adult, child, infant) certifications;
  • Planning and time management skills to plan programs, activities,

schedules and routines;

  • Experience with previous programming development and

implementation is an asset;

  • Ability to function as a team member;
  • Strong communication skills; ability to speak Ojibway is an asset;
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of community services, customs, and traditions of

Mitaanjigamiing First Nation.

  • Travel may be required;
