Lead ABA/Behavioural
Fort Frances Tribal Area Health Services Inc. is a corporation that
provides health care, mental health and addictions services to the 10
First Nations.
Position Summary
As a member of the Fort Frances Tribal Area Health Services Inc., the
Lead ABA/Behavioural Consultant acts as a clinical leader of the Child’s
First Initiative team and ensures the delivery of high quality and
effective services to address the holistic needs of children and their
families. The Lead ABA/Behavioural Consultant is directly responsible
for the supervision and management of behavioral intervention
programs and treatment teams for children on the autism spectrum and
ensures staff are providing quality treatment for optimal results, and all
standards of care are being maintained.
Job Duties

  • Provide initial and ongoing assessments of behaviour, needs, and

functional abilities of children being serviced by Child’s First Initiative

  • Contribute to the development of client service plans summarizing

client’s behavioural goals, and specific recommendations to reach
those goals including best practice and evidence based behaviour
intervention plans using behavioral principles and procedures;

  • Assist the family with determining the behavioural priorities, creating a

behavioural definition of the priority behaviour(s) and implementing

  • Conduct clinical support and direction of front line staff in correct

implementation of plans, coaching and giving feedback to enhance
staff development and skills;

  • Take a lead role in delivering ABA training of all staff who are

conducting ABA within FFTAHS including data gathering and
implementation of plans using a model-practice feedback model

  • Contribute to the content of training materials where necessary and in

consultation with other FFTAHS staff;

  • Plan and deliver group and individualized training with parents and

community partners/ professionals;

  • Provide family/client advocacy and participate in case conferencing

with internal and external service providers as deemed appropriate;

  • Maintain client confidentiality and protect operations by monitoring

confidential information processing;

  • Other job related duties as assigned.


  • Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) certification;
  • Have 3-5 years’ experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis for the

treatment of children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder;

  • Post-secondary degree in Psychology or Human Services;
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in a clinical


  • Experience developing and presenting workshops on various ABA

topics is an asset;

  • Solid knowledge of Jordan’s Principle, health care related legislation

and practices;

  • Knowledge/experience working with Children who have complex care


  • The ability to manage time well and work under stressful conditions

with an even temperament;

  • The ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions;
  • The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
  • Previous experience working with First Nations people is an asset;
  • Anishinaabemowin - Ability to communicate effectively in Ojibwe a

definite asset;

  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and be insurable;
  • Must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
