The Fort Frances Times
and the Fort Frances Daily Bulletin
is seeking a Reporter/Photographer
for a full time position.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an enthusiastic team
of journalists at an independent newspaper.
The Fort Frances Times is published weekly on Wednesday
while the Fort Frances Daily Bulletin is published Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday. The Fort Frances Daily Bulletin serves
the immediate community area of Fort Frances while the
Fort Frances Times serves the entire Rainy River District.
In addition, a web version www.fortfrancestimes.com is
Fort Frances is a thriving community in Ontario on the
US border with a sister community International Falls MN.
The town is approximately half way between Thunder Bay
and Winnipeg. It is within three hours of large Minnesota
cities. The community, situated on a lake surrounded by
the Canadian Shield, is famous for its fishing, hunting and
outdoor recreation opportunities.
A journalism degree or diploma is an asset or the study of
English writing. Experience with Adobe InDesign would be a
definite asset, although training will be provided, if necessary.
Writing responsibilities generally revolve around 10 to 15
stories per week on a variety of subjects, with individual
beats to be defined after the start date. Must be able to take
quality photographs. The successful applicant will also be
required to take digital photos and share the layout duties
for both publications.
A reliable vehicle is required, as is the ability to work flexible
