Qualifications
The successful candidate will be working towards a
journalism degree or diploma or enrolled in the study of
English writing. Experience with the Adobe Suite would
definitely be an asset.
You must be able to take quality photos and shoot video as
well as share in the layout of the paper.
A reliable vehicle is required as is the ability to work flexible
hours.

The Workshop Coordinator will report to the Curator and will be
responsible for overseeing the organization and implementation of a
series of programming workshops over the course of twelve months.
All workshops will take place on KNCWN grounds and will feature
15 different types of traditional Anishinaabe technologies used over
thousands of years. This position is a temporary, full-time (35 hours a
week) position beginning May 6, 2019 until May 15, 2020, with an hourly
wage of $19.00/hour.
JOB DUTIES:
• Coordinate purchase of all supplies needed for workshops.
• Oversee and coordinate registration and necessary staff scheduling.
• Instruct workshops or oversee and assist guest instructors.
• Direct rotating roster of youth assistants.
• Communicate, organize, and facilitate travel arrangement with
guest instructors.
• Be willing and able to learn new skills.
• Complete administrative and analytical duties as required.

MUSEUM ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Museum Assistant will report to the Curator and Museum Technician
and will be responsible for rehousing the existing archaeological and
ethnological collection in updated storage containers. This will include
the completion of minor renovations and the acquisition of materials and
supplies. Data entry, artifact photography, and record keeping may also
be required. This position will work closely with the Museum Intern and
provide training to the intern when needed. This position is a temporary,
full-time (35 hours a week) position beginning May 6th, 2019 until
November 1st, 2019 with an hourly wage of $22.00/hour.
JOB DUTIES:
• Organize, arrange, and rehouse artifacts using updated inventory
procedures and record keeping protocols. This may include the handling,
cleaning, and basic conservation of objects according to accepted
museum practices and procedures.
• Design and create customized storage containers using conservation-safe
materials.
• Print, organize, and distribute all pre-made artifact cards.
• Maintain accurate records of rehousing process.
• Prepare condition reports as needed.
• Scan contextual information and photograph artifacts. Must use proper
lighting and photo editing techniques.
• Assist with training and direction of volunteers and intern.
• Provide progress reports and/or presentations as requested.
• Monitor and maintain a safe work area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of post-secondary degree or diploma in museum studies,
collections management, archaeology, or equivalent work experience.

• Must be comfortable with public speaking.
• Knowledgeable in the archaeological and cultural history of northwestern
Ontario and the Rainy River region is an asset.

WORKSHOP ASSISTANTS
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Workshop Assistants will report to the Workshop Coordinator
and the Curator. They will aid the Coordinator with the preparation
and implementation of a series of workshops featuring traditional
Anishinaabe technologies used over thousands of years. The majority
of work hours will take place over the weekend every two to four weeks
over the course of one year. Each assistant will be responsible for helping
with five different workshop types. One to three Workshop Assistants will
be hired on a part-time, casual basis and will work an average of 25 hours
per month. The hours will fluctuate from 11 hours up to 60 hours a month
depending on the number of organized workshops. These positions will
run between May 2019 until May 2020 with an hourly wage of $14.00/hour.

• Help prepare materials and supplies for a number of different workshops.

ORAL HISTORY INTERN
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary focus of this position is to facilitate engagement with
Rainy River First Nations (RRFN) community members for the upcoming
Preserving our Stories oral history project. The position is part of a
two-year funded project through the Ontario Arts Council - Indigenous
Culture Fund and will require 35 hours of work per week at a rate of
$22.00/hour. This position will run from May 1, 2019 until April 30,
2021. The first year of the project is focused on content development
(interviewing, collecting stories, facilitating community meetings) while
the second year is focused on data curation and digitization of collected
material. The successful candidate will follow direction from the Curator
of Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung.
JOB DUTIES:
• Engage with RRFN community members (ranging from youth to Elders).
This will include conducting interviews.
• Facilitate monthly community meetings (this includes creating posters,
buying supplies and gifts when needed, etc.).
• Conduct presentations on the goals and progress of the project at
community meetings.
• Monitor and record budgets and submit reports.
• Maintain detailed project records and minutes from community meetings.
• Use a variety of audio and visual recording equipment; transcribing
interviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum Grade 12.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in dealing with the public.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with staff and
the public.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.

TAKE NOTICE that the Committee of Adjustment will consider
the following application submitted pursuant to section 45 of the
Planning Act, 1990 at the regular meeting Tuesday April 30th, 2019
at 5:30 pm in the Committee Room downstairs at the Civic Center
320 Portage Ave, Fort Frances, ON.
Any person may attend this meeting and/or make a written or
verbal representation either in support of or in the opposition of
an application or be represented by council for that purpose.
Any person or persons who wish to be notifi ed of the decision
with respect to these applications must appear in person or by
counsel at the Public Hearing and in addition, request in writing
form the Secretary-Treasurer copies of the decision of the

Tenders will be opened publicly immediately thereafter in the
committee room of the Civic Centre.
This contract is for the reconstruction of Second St. from Portage
Ave. to Victoria Ave. and the construction of Erin Crescent off
Kaitlyn Drive. The contract includes watermain, sanitary sewer, new
hydrants and valves, storm sewer, earth excavation, granular ‘A’ & ‘B’,
concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, and hot mix paving.
Plans and contract documents may be obtained from the office of
Hatch Ltd. and/or at the Town Hall – Information Desk, 320 Portage
Avenue, Fort Frances, Ontario and will be available for viewing
at the Thunder Bay and Winnipeg Construction Associations. A
mandatory site meeting for all General Contractors will be held in
Fort Frances on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. (CDT)
in the Committee Room at the Civic Centre (320 Portage Avenue).
Lowest or any Tender not necessarily accepted. The Town of
Fort Frances reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive
irregularities and informalities therein, and to award the Contract
in the best interest of the Town in its sole and unfettered discretion.
The accepted tender must be approved by Council.
A non-refundable charge of $50.00 will be made for each set.
Cheques shall be made payable to Hatch Corporation. A Bid Bond
or Certified Cheque in the amount of 10% of the Contract Price
made payable to the Corporation of the Town of Fort Frances shall
accompany each Tender. A 100% Performance Bond and 25%
Labour and Material Bond shall be provided prior to Contract Award.

The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and
management of the program(s). This includes managing personnel
matters, enrollment, participation, managing program resources and
ensures the program reporting requirements are fulfilled. It is the Project
Manager’s responsibility to ensure the highest standards in programming
are maintained. The Project Manager plays an important role in strategic
planning, program and policy development. It is the Project Manager’s
responsibility to ensure practices and procedures reflect SGEI’s mandate
and goals.
DUTIES:
• Recruitment of participants;
• Maintaining a full complement of staff and supply instructors/
facilitators;
• Carrying out annual employee performance evaluations: addressing

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to interpret basic financial statements;
