FAMILY COUNSELLOR (Maternity Leave)
Internal/External Posting
The Family Counsellor (FC) will work within a culturally competent
system of care and as such will acknowledge and incorporate at all
levels, the importance of culture, the expansion of cultural knowledge,
and the overall vision of Weechi-it-te-win Family Services (WFS).
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary diploma in Social Services or related field;
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, minimum three-years experience

in individual, group and/or family counselling;

  • Working knowledge of the NFN Community Care Program and

Weechi-it-te-win Family Services’ service delivery system including
the policy and procedures set by the Board of WFS, and the Best
Practices framework established by the CCP;

  • Knowledge of Part IV & X of the Child and Family Services Act,

customary care declarations and procedures;

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Elders, Healers, and

Clinicians;

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive narrative reports on

clinical services to clients;

  • Must have exceptional knowledge of various computer applications

(MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, Email);

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
