On or before 2:00 p.m. Local Time (CDT), Tuesday, May 1st, 2018.
Tenders will be opened publicly immediately thereafter in the committee room of the Civic Centre.
This contract is for the rehabilitation of the Mill Road Bridge Overpass located near the easterly
Town Limits. The work generally consists of minor concrete removal and repairs, removal of asphalt
pavement from concrete surfaces, modifications to deck joint assemblies, bridge deck waterproofing
and asphalt paving. In addition, reconstruction of the road approaches to the structure from Elizabeth
St. East to Lake Rd. will be completed including replacement of storm sewers and watermains, earth
excavation, Granular “A” and “B” Type 2, steel beam guiderail modifications, concrete curb and
gutter and hot mix paving. Miscellaneous watermain distribution improvements, hydrant and valve
replacements, and sanitary manhole installations in various locations throughout Town will also be
included in this contract.

Information Desk, Fort Frances Civic Centre, 320 Portage Avenue, Fort Frances, Ontario, P9A 3P9

Thunder Bay, Ontario, P7B 0E2. Plans are also available for viewing at the Thunder Bay and Winnipeg
Construction Association. A mandatory site meeting for all General Contractors will be held in Fort
Frances on Thursday, April 12th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) at the town water treatment plant located at
the intersection of 5th Street East and Colonization Road East.
Lowest or any Tender not necessarily accepted. The Town of Fort Frances reserves the right to reject
any or all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and to award the Contract in the best
interest of the Town in its sole and unfettered discretion. Accepted Tender must be approved by Council.
A non-refundable charge of $50.00 will be made for each set. Cheques shall be made payable to Hatch
Corporation. A Bid Bond or Certified Cheque in the amount of 10% of the Contract Price made payable
to the Corporation of the Town of Fort Frances shall accompany each Tender. A 100% Performance
Bond and 50% Labour and Material Bond will be required for this contract.
