    Kenzie Begin enjoyed some soup Sunday at the annual “Development and Peace” soup-and-bun fundraiser organized by the St. Mary’s Youth Group. The youths made bread and buns, with advice from Helen and Ray Cousineau, as well as served up hot soup donated by parishioners.

    Muskie Donovan Cousineau tried to win back a face-off from Dryden Eagles’ forward Grant Valiquette in Game 1 of their best-of-three NorWOSSA final here Friday night. Cousineau tallied twice as Fort High won 5-4 in overtime, then went on to sweep the series with a 3-0 win in Dryden on Sunday afternoon.

Community effort key to doctor drive: Gillon

In response to a call from town council to review how to improve physician recruitment and retention here, the Rainy River Future Development Corp. has come back with a report recommending many ideas.
And the message is loud and clear that co-operation and community involvement are key if the town wants to attract more doctors here.

Nestor Falls stages another successful winter carnival

The Nestor Falls Winter Carnival is being declared a “big success” by organizers after running for its 28th year this past weekend.
“I hope everyone had a good time, and I hope they come back next year,” said Howard Dodd, a member of the Nestor Falls Recreation Committee which organizes the annual event that brings in people from far and wide for the weekend.
