    Members of the Community Control Group convened in the Emergency Operations Centre at the Civic Centre yesterday to mitigate a “disastrous ice storm” as part of Emergency Management Ontario’s Trillium Response 2008. The drill is meant to test town response in the event of a real emergency. Participants will meet Dec. 1 to follow-up on the activity.

    The full chorus stayed true to the theme of “Around the World” by belting out “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)” by They Might Be Giants during a full dress rehearsal last night for Fort Frances High School’s annual musical revue, which runs tomorrow through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre.

    St. John’s Anglican Church Sunday School students Emma Keeler, front row left, McKenna Begin, Hailey Beaudry, and Tory Beaudry, along with Hallee Nugent, back row left, Logan Nugent, Brayton Levesque, and Kaylyn Levesque, presented Capts. Marlene and Angel Sandoval with boxes full of donations for the Salvation Army food bank Sunday evening. The children had gone to the homes of family, friends, and fellow parishioners that afternoon to gather food items.
