Janice Cousineau put a bid on a “movie basket,” donated by Micaela, Doug, and Tyler Jensen, during the silent auction at last night’s “Community Chest” benefit dinner at La Place Rendez-Vous. The annual dinner and auction, which saw a sold-out crowd of about 225 people, raised $15,053 to help local families facing medical expenses.

Police probing fatal crash
Tuesday, 9 March 2010 - 2:02pm A Sioux Narrows man was killed in an overnight collision on Highway 71 near Caliper Lake.
Brian Beacham, 42, was driving a passenger van northbound when he collided with a southbound tractor-trailer unit in the southbound lane, police reported this morning.
The accident occurred around midnight in the area of Caliper Lake, about six km south of Nestor Falls.
