Decked out in green, Wilma Chapman served up Irish stew to the crowd that came out last night for the St. Patrick’s Supper at St. John’s Anglican Church here. Along with a spread of traditional Irish fare, those on hand also were treated to entertainment by the “Rainy Lake Ringers.”

With the help of librarian Evelyn Norris, Hailey Joyce was transformed into a paper bag princess yesterday morning during the Fort Frances Public Library’s “Bunch of Munsch” Storytime. The crowd of children who came out for the March Break activity heard their favourite Robert Munsch stories, ate cupcakes, and decorated their own costume to become a paper bag princess or prince.

In their first game since eliminating the K&A Wolverines 3-2 in overtime in Game 7 of their first-round series on Sunday, the Lakers were on the losing end last night—falling 4-3 to the host Dryden Ice Dogs in the opener of their semi-final series.
Deadline tomorrow to sign up for customer service challenge
Thursday, 18 March 2010 - 1:07pm Tomorrow is the deadline to sign for the Rainy River Future Development Corp.’s seventh-annual customer service challenge.
RRFDC officer manager Cynde Milette said the response has been good so far, with more than 15 businesses signed up, but organizers are hoping at least 30 will take part.
