In my opinion it is not a big deal that the town of fort frances pays $ 50,000 a year in maintenance. 99 years ago this land was probably filled with virgin timber and was cut and sold and anyone can see this by how the trees in the park are now situated. I am sure these first nations can and will cough up the $ 12 500 each to keep this maintenance. Also who has received the benefits and jobs from this lawn care? I have heard talks that if returned to the first nations that water and amusement parks will be brought to this parcel of land so that everyone equally will have a job and the tourists will stop here and start playing, staying, and spending.
