Christmas card fundraiser underway

As one of several fundraisers for new playground equipment, St. Michael’s Home and School committee are trying a new project—selling Christmas cards hand-designed by students at the school.
Each student was encouraged to submit a drawing in the contest and the top 12, ranging from JK-Grade 3, were selected to be made into holiday greeting cards.

The winners were Jenaya Debenetti (JK), Alacea Yerxa (SK), Katelyn Bruyere (Grade 1), Sarah Larson (Grade 1), Callahan Wiedenhoeft (Grade 1), Emily Heil (Grade 2), Gemma Friesen (Grade 2), Anika Beaudry (Grade 3), Annika Kjerulf (Grade 3), Kassidy Fryer (Grade 3), Taya Carlson (Grade 3), and Jesse Quesnel (Grade 3).
The cards, printed at Good Impressions Printing here, were organized into packages containing one of each design.
These designs include everything from angels, Christmas trees, snowmen, Santas, and manger scenes, and also contain different sayings inside relating to the theme of the card.
The packages of cards cost $10 each, which can be purchased throughout the holiday season at The Christmas Store, Sight & Sound, and Dough & Deli.
The Home and School committee also will be selling the cards on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Canadian Tire and Wal-Mart.
