Sunset splits pair

Tuesday night saw two really good, close games in the Fort Frances Men's Basketball League—and one really good 40 minutes of exercise for two teams that both played hard but had different levels of skills on display.

In what ended up being a close game, Sunset Landscaping eked out a 49-44 victory over a determined Arctic Cat team.

Family movie slated

The Rainy River “Railroad Daze" committee will be showing the family-friendly movie, "Moana,” on its giant blow-up movie screen on Friday, April 14 at 6 p.m. at Rainy River High School.

Admission is $2/child and a cash canteen also will be available.

All proceeds will go towards children's events at this year's “Railroad Daze” festival, which runs July 20-23.

Revco beaten twice

Revco started down a man but still managed to take a lead at one point in the opening game of Fort Frances Men's Basketball League action Tuesday night.

But a combination of missed free throws, bad passes, poor shot selection, and a stolen ball in the final minutes ended up being their downfall as they fell 43-39 to BDO.

RRFN jumps into tie for first

In a game between the top two offensive teams in the Fort Frances Men's Basketball League, with each having one of the top two offensive players, this time it was Sam Soderman and his RRFN team that came out on top in a 78-61 victory over Sunset Landscaping on Tuesday night.

Down only four point at halftime, Sunset could not find a way to shut down Soderman in the second half.
