Easter farmers’ market set to go

The Clover Valley Farmers’ Market in Fort Frances will be holding its annual Easter market this week, where there will be a wide variety of local meats, Easter flowers, and specialty breads to make your holiday celebration more enjoyable.

The market will be open tomorrow (April 9) from noon-5 p.m. and again Saturday (April 11) from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at its usual McIrvine Road location.

Badiuk wins men’s bonspiel

Mike Badiuk, a very familiar name on the local curling scene, captured top spot over the weekend at the annual Fort Frances men’s bonpsiel.

Mike and his team of Matt Seguin (third), Matt Johnson (second), and Travis Showalter (lead) played exceptionally well and enjoyed the weekend.

This was the second-straight year Badiuk has won this title.

Shamrock tea coming up

Get into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day early by attending the annual Shamrock tea and bake sale hosted by the Emo & District Hospital Auxiliary.

The fun-filled afternoon takes place this Friday (March 13) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Emo hospital cafeteria.

Admission is $3, which includes a snack and beverage.

The Emo Legion will host a fish fry this Saturday (Jan. 31), with the menu also featuring salads, potatoes, desserts, and a beverage.

The meal will be served from 5-7 p.m., with admission being $12 for adults and $5 for children six and under. Take-out orders are available prior to 4:30 p.m.
