Toboggans stolen from day care

The day care centre here in Devlin is hoping the eight toboggans that were stolen from there will be returned.

If you have any information about this matter, call 486-1264.

Or if you have the toboggans, and enjoyed them over the holidays, perhaps you can find it in your heart to return them so the young people who attend the day care can use them for the rest of the winter.

‘Holly Daze’ in Emo set to go

Emo’s annual “Holly Daze” festivities are set to go this Friday and Saturday (Dec. 2-3).

The highlight is the Santa Claus parade, which happens on Friday starting at 6 p.m., but plenty of events are planned for both days.

Also be sure to register to win one of two prizes of $250 in “Emo Bucks,” which will be drawn on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Emo Drugs.

Remembrance Day services set for district cenotaphs

Several Remembrance Day services will be held across the district on Friday (Nov. 11) to honour our war dead.

Here in Devlin, a cenotaph service is slated for 2:30 p.m., followed by one in Emo at 3 p.m.

As always, Emo Legion Br. #99 is holding special events that day to underscore the importance of Remembrance Day, including a free-will luncheon at 1 p.m.
