Local air cadet earns staff position at training centre

The competition at Trenton Cadet Training Centre (TCTC) was strong this year as 112 staff cadets strived for leadership positions to hold for the duration of the summer training season. Flight Sergeant (FSgt) Courtney Sinclair from 908 Rainy Lake Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Fort Frances was awarded with a position in Duty Watch—the main operations hub for the training centre.

Riverside board filled

Riverside Health Care held its annual general meeting on June 28, at which time two vacancies on the board of directors were filled.

Joining the board for the first time are Carlene Steiner for a three-year term and Jon Begg for a two-year term.

Returning to the board for three-year terms are Doug Robinson and Jordan Forbes.

SGEI gives gift of music

Seven Generations Education Institute (SGEI) has donated 22 refurbished iPod touches to the Kenora/Rainy River Districts Alzheimer Society's Music Project.

Rossana Tomashowski, executive director for the Alzheimer Society's Kenora/Rainy River Districts branch said that prior to the donation, the Kenora/Rainy River branch had a waiting list of patients awaiting MP3 players.
