Beer tax hike halted

The province has taken action to prevent an immediate increase in beer prices by stepping in to halt a scheduled tax hike put in place by the previous government.

By taking this step, Premier Doug Ford, along with Finance minister Vic Fedeli, will leave more money in the pockets of Ontario beer fans.

This is why, in his mandate letter, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asked Bill Blair, the minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction, to lead an examination of a ban on handguns and assault weapons in Canada while not impeding the lawful use of firearms by Canadians.

Riverside buys new truck

Riverside Health Care's Supply Chain welcomed a new courier truck purchased with the assistance of $30,000 in donations brought in through the Riverside Foundation for Health Care's annual Christmas Appeal in 2017.

“The truck is a vital piece of equipment,” said Doug White of Riverside's Supply Chain.
