Kejick named as Liberal candidate

Karen Kejick, a community leader and local advocate for women, children, and families, officially was nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for Kenora-Rainy River on Sunday.

“I'm running to be our MPP in Kenora-Rainy River because I want to stand up for the northwest and bring the health-care services, transportation infrastructure, and good jobs our people need,” said Kejick.

"Welcome Rally' planned at border

To kick off the fishing season, and let tourists know how much they mean to us and our local economy, the Town of Fort Frances will be holding a “Welcome Rally” at the border for American anglers crossing the border next Friday (May 18) at 11 a.m.

All are encouraged to attend with a fun, homemade sign to show our American neighbours our Fort Frances Boundless hospitality.

IBRT to wrap up popular series

“Radio Icebox,” the sci-fi comedy podcast produced by the Icebox Radio Theater in International Falls, will wrap up its run after the May 15 episode.

“Radio Icebox” debuted in 2015 as part of an effort by the IBRT to attempt a ongoing adventure series.

At its conclusion, the series will have lasted three seasons, accounting for 38 episodes.
