Science winners

The Sunset Country Regional Science Fair was held Saturday at Fort Frances High School.

Students from the Rainy River District School Board, the Northwest Catholic District School Board, and the Keewatin Patricia District School Board took part.

RRCC hosting art show

Art Department students at Rainy River Community College in International Falls are hosting a show on Wednesday, April 25.

The show is free and open to the public.

Students working in painting and ceramics in the Art Department at RRCC will be showcasing their work.

Artwork will be on display in the RRCC Theater Lobby from April 19-May 11.

Comics artist to visit

Alex A., author and illustrator, discovered his love for creating cartoon characters at the age of eight—and has been at it ever since.

His first graphic novel was published in 2011, “L'Agent Jean!”

The series now includes more than 10 books, and is adored by young readers in both Quebec and Ontario.

His books have sold more than 800,000 copies in Quebec alone.

Dinner theatre planned

The Borealis Bards is excited to announce its fourth-annual “Room to Act” dinner theatre event on the evening of Saturday, April 21 at the Backus Community Centre in International Falls.

This year's theme is “A Day in the Life” and will feature an entertaining collection of song, monologue, short plays, comedy, and a little improv.

Dragon boat teams sought

The International Boundary Waters Dragon Boat Foundation will launch dragon boat teams from both sides of the border to race on the Rainy River for its seventh-annual International Boundary Waters Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, June 30.

The event also will feature the return of the International Tug-of-War, presented by the Backus Community Center in International Falls.
