Ex-principal charged over test tampering

A former high school principal is facing charges of professional misconduct after being accused of tampering with Ontario's literacy test.

The Ontario College of Teachers said it conducted an investigation and found some students were called back to the school to complete parts of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test in March, 2016 after it was supposed to be concluded.

Attawapiskat declares state of emergency

After an increasing number of young people tried to take their lives in a remote Northern Ontario First Nation last week, the chief and council have declared a state of emergency.

The suicide epidemic in Attawapiskat started in the fall, when a number of people tried to kill themselves, said Jackie Hookimaw, a resident of the First Nation on James Bay.
