Rain eases fire scene

No new fires were reported in the Northwest Region by late yesterday.

As well, the number of active fires in the region has been reduced to two.

Red Lake Fire #30, a 3,739-hectare blaze that crossed the Manitoba boundary into Ontario on May 22, was listed as “under control” at last report.

Pair of new fires reported

Two new fires were confirmed by yesterday afternoon in the Northwest Region.

Fort Frances Fire #9 was listed as “out" at 0.1 hectares at last report but Fort Frances Fire #10, located near Eva Lake, was "not under control” at 0.1 ha.

Red Lake Fire #30 has grown to 3,739 ha is size but now is listed as “being held.”

Weekend quiet on fire scene

No new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by yesterday afternoon and only one new fire was confirmed on Saturday.

Dryden Fire #8, located near Seseganaga Lake, was listed as “being held” at 0.8 hectares in size at last report.

However, eight fires were confirmed in the region by the end of the day on Friday.

Two new fires sparked

Two new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by yesterday afternoon.

Red Lake Fire #31, located near Borel Lake, was listed as “not under control” at 3.8 hectares in size.

Kenora Fire #47, located south of Esther Lake, also was listed as “not under control” at 0.1 ha.
