Mark the season of romance with some special chocolates

NEW YORK — Got a chocolate lover? Why not mark the season of romance with something special just for them.

With an ancient love connection the Aztecs believed chocolate was an aphrodisiac and built-in marketing opportunities that include Valentine’s Day, the purveyors of chocolate offer their wares in a variety of price ranges, flavour combinations and just plain fun factor.

Dictionary.com chooses ‘complicit’ as its word of the year

NEW YORK — Dictionary.com announced Monday that “complicit” is the site’s word of the year in a contentious 2017.

Site lexicographer Jane Solomon says numerous events, from politics to natural disasters, drove more people to look up “complicit” at particular times of the year. Overall, she said, look-ups of the word increased nearly 300 per cent over 2016.

Airline faces wrath of leggings wearers in boarding flap

NEW YORK — Don’t mess with our stretch, United Airlines, or risk the wrath of leggings lovers.

The social media matter of The Kids in Leggings vs. United snapped to the surface Sunday. That’s when one Shannon Watts said on Twitter she had witnessed a gate agent refusing to let two girls board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis because of their leggings.

Collins’ couture gown was a light shade with a floral design. She went with her first choice to go with Harry Winston jewels.
