Unsteady skiers

Kayli Machura (21) and Jaida Norris stumbled their way in an attempt to finish with an identical time in the 3K skate race Sunday at the Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club's first-annual Rainy Lake Loppet on the Rocky Inlet trails. The pair was successful in accomplishing their goal, both clocking in at time of 27:31.

Solo skier

Meghan Spooner looked to stop her momentum as she finished up her run during the 1K classic race Sunday at the Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club's first-annual Rainy Lake Loppet on the Rocky Inlet trails. Spooner finished in third with a time of 32:26.

Group of skiers

Steve Johnson (11), Aidan DeGagne (14), and Ilka Milne (10) all looked to get off to good starts during their races at the Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club's first-annual Rainy Lake Loppet that was held Sunday on the Rocky Inlet trails. Johnson claimed top spot in men's 50-and-over 7.5K skate division (39:04) while DeGagne finished last in the men's 50-and-under division (56:25).

Who wants it?

Junior Muskie Brady Bodnarchuk looked to find a friendly option to pass to during the squad's 45-42 win over the Kenora Broncos last Thursday afternoon at Fort High. Bodnarchuk scored 12 points to help the Muskies improve their NorWOSSA record to 5-1.

Delivering stone

Christine Jean was locked in as she threw her stone down the ice Saturday during the men's and ladies' combined bonspiel at the Fort Frances Curling Club. Jean's rink claimed the 'B' title over Sylvia Smeeth in Sunday's final.

Hard sweeping

Daniel Vandenbrand and Chris Silver tried to hurry their rock down the ice Saturday at the men's and ladies' combined bonspiel held at the Fort Frances Curling Club. The duo were part of Ron Silver's rink, who fell in Sunday's 'A' final to Steve Gushulak.
