Soccer chase

Declan Webb of Centra Pipelines looked to quickly advance the ball as he was pursued by Manitou Forest Products' opponents during his squad's 4-0 win in Borderland Soccer League men's division action last night at the St. Francis Sports Field. Webb notched a goal to help pace the offence and give Centra its second win of the season.

FFYS windup

The action was fierce as Fort Frances Youth Soccer officially wound up its season Saturday morning at the St. Francis Sports Fields. Teams in each division played a game and then were able to enjoy hotdogs, freezies, and refreshments afterwards with family and friends.

Mens soccer

Connor Nelson of Manitou Forest Products kept the ball in front of him as he surveyed his options on the pitch during his squad's 1-0 loss to CJ Contracting yesterday evening in Borderland Soccer League men's division action.

Laker signings

The Fort Frances Lakers held a press conference yesterday afternoon at the Ice For Kids Arena boardroom to announce the first wave of local player signings in Nick Hahkala, Colton Bodnar, Cole Allan, Noah Loveday, and James Gushulak. Lakers' head coach and general manager Wayne Strachan also announced a trade for Brett Hahkala from the Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL).

Charles Friday of the Couchiching Raiders turned on the jets as he rounded third base and headed home during his squad's 5-1 win against the Sabaskong Lakers in Rainy River District Fastball League action Thursday evening at Couchiching.
