Jones racks up two more wins

NORTH BAY, Ont.—South Korea's EunJung Kim and the Olympic darling “Garlic Girls” used a pressure-heavy style to reach the podium at the Winter Games.

It didn't work against Canada's Jennifer Jones yesterday at the world women's curling championship.

Jones knocked off the Pyeongchang silver-medallists 8-4, then topped Olympic champion Anna Hasselborg of Sweden 8-4 last night.

Royals rout Jays

TORONTO—The Kansas City Royals were aggressive from the start last night and it paid off with one of their more lopsided wins of the season.

Swinging regularly at the first pitch against Brett Anderson, the Royals chased the Toronto starter early in a 15-5 rout of the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.

Jays sweep Reds

Toronto's Devon Travis was determined to control the pace of his at-bat in a seventh-inning showdown with Wandy Peralta yesterday afternoon.

The Cincinnati reliever kept throwing to first base and Travis called time-out a few times to keep his routine intact while eventually working the count full.
