A Coffee House is being planned for the Church of the Holy Spirit in Fort Frances on March 27, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Come and enjoy local music talent, beverages and snacks for just $5. In addition there will be a Penny Table as well as baked goods for sale. The congregation is looking for donations of baking and/or new or very gently used items for the Penny Table.

St. Patrick's Church Emo will be hosting their annual Traditional Irish Supper, on Tuesday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. The meal will be Loin of Bacon (smoked pork loin), served with Creamy Cabbage & Champ and all the sides (mashed potatoes). Admission to the supper will be by advanced ticket only. Adults will be $15.00 and children 6-12 years $8.00.
The annual Emo Lenten Lunch worship series will be hosted by Emo Knox United Church every Wednesday from March 11-April 1. Come and enjoy a short worship service followed by a soup and sandwich lunch. All are welcome!
The Emo Hospital Auxiliary will be holding their annual Shamrock Tea and Bake Sale on Friday, March 13 in the Emo Hospital Cafeteria from 1 - 3 p.m. Admission to the tea will be $5 and will support the work and projects of the Auxiliary in the Emo Hospital. Come for some tea, coffee and refreshments and spend some time with friends.
Two country jams are on tap for the next couple of weeks. The Barwick Jam will be held in the Barwick Hall on Feb. 15. Admission to this event will be $5 and will include the entertainment plus a light lunch and some tea/coffee, pop or water. Come out for a great time with family and friends.
The Church of the Holy Spirit in Fort Frances will be holding a Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the church in Fort Frances. The public is invited to attend. Admission is by donation to the Mission and Service Fund of the church. The supper will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The church would love to see you there.
The Country Band, “Country Rewind” will perform some of the greatest country hits, Karaoke Style in the Emo Legion on Feb. 8, 2020, starting at 7 p.m. The cost of admission for the evening of entertainment and dancing will be only $5. Sing along, dance and enjoy a night down memory lane with this group from Atikokan. Come out for a great evening and support the Emo Legion.
The “Country Jams" for Emo will be on Jan. 17, Feb. 21 and March 13, 2020 at the Emo Legion. For a great evening of old time favourites with family and friends please mark these dates on your calendar. The musicians will start playing sometime around 7 p.m. and will play until 10 p.m. or a little later. The bar will be open and the kitchen staff may be available to cook your favourite snack.
There will be a Men's Fellowship Breakfast at the Emo Legion, Saturday January 18th @ 08:00 am. Come for delicious breakfast and enjoy fellowship with old and new friends. The “Holly Daze Parade” in Emo on the weekend was well attended by people from across the district.
Thanks to the Emo Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Emo, and several individuals, the parade was a great hit.
