Sure signs of 'spring' in the air

For everyone looking forward to “spring,” there's some sure signs in the air that it's coming.

Registration for Emo Youth Soccer—open to boys and girls from pre-school to Grade 8—continues tomorrow (March 9) from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Emo-La Vallee Community Centre.

The cost is $45 for kids in JK-Grade 8 and $30 for pre-schoolers. A late payment fee of $5 applies after March 10.

Jamboree coming up

The annual Golden Age Country Jamboree and Square Dance will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 from 6 p.m.-midnight at the Northwest Bay Community Centre.

The band “17A” (Elmer Whitefish and Wayne Teeple) will provide an evening of 1950s and '60s music.

Admission is $2 and a canteen will be available (absolutely no alcohol or drugs allowed).

Bingo resumes at Emo Legion

The Emo Legion has started its fall Bingos again, with doors opening at 6 p.m. each Tuesday.

Come out and enjoy an evening of Bingo—you even might take home some cash!

Proceeds help the Legion fund its many charities.

A reminder, as well, that seniors’ carpet bowling and lunch goes every Thursday at the Emo Legion

Games begin at 9 a.m., with lunch served at noon.
