Museums to hold Queen’s Jubilee dinner

Chapple Heritage and the Rainy River District Women’s Institute invite you to the “Queen’s Jubilee Dinner” to be held Saturday, May 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Barwick Hall.

Tickets cost $15 for adults and $7 for children eight and under, which are available until May 5 from Annie Van Rozen at the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market in Fort Frances and the Emo Public Library.

Turnout strong for ‘Spring Fever Days’

Despite some weather Saturday that definitely was not spring-like, this year’s “Spring Fever Days” in Emo was extremely well-attended by people from across the district.

The annual celebration of spring started with some lovely weather on Friday. The Emo Legion was busy with people stopping by for soup and a sandwich, and to check out the crafts and other tables.

Library to hold grand opening

The Emo Public Library will be holding an official opening of its new accessible addition on Friday, April 20 at 1 p.m. in conjunction with Spring Fever Days.

A representative from the Trillium Foundation, as well as local dignitaries, will be on hand for the grand opening.

Refreshments will be served, and the public is welcome to attend.

‘Farmers Night’ a huge success

The second-annual “Farmers Night,” which took place Saturday at the Barwick Hall, was deemed a huge success by members of the Emo and District Lions Club.

Despite the fact several other major events were taking place across the district that night, a near capacity crowd enjoyed a fabulous ham and turkey supper, complete with salads, baked potatoes, vegetables, buns, and dessert.
