“Labyrinth" will be screened tonight (July 26) for "Rainy Lake Movie Night" at the Rainy Lake Square. Movie starts at 9 p.m. Free event. Bring a lawn chair. There will be a concession stand selling popcorn, pop and candy. All proceeds from these movie snacks will support the "I Am Awesome And I Know It Self Esteem Retreat for Young Women.”

The Couchiching Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual open house and barbecue on Saturday, July 28 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Stock car racing action goes Saturday, July 28 at the Emo Speedway, with hot laps at 7 p.m. and the first race at 7:30 (weather permitting). Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for seniors/students, with those aged nine and under being free.

Community Living Fort Frances and District will hold an open-air art studio every Monday from 3-7 p.m. at various locations around town, with the next one set for July 30 at the Legion Park when bird feeders will be made. All sessions are free to the public, and all ages and abilities are welcome to attend.

“My Son the Hurricane" and "Shred Kelly” will double-headline the stage at the Rainy Lake Square on Tuesday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m., presented by Tour de Fort and From the Grind Up. Doors open at 6 p.m., which tickets costing $30 each, which can be purchased at From the Grind Up and the Rainy Lake Dental Centre or from any Tour de Fort board member.

“Bob Wepruk & the Northern Jammers” will be playing on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at the Rainy Lake Square. Their country and bluegrass tunes will be sure to get you dancing. Free concert. Bring a lawn chair.

A benefit dinner to support the Jourdain family will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 5-7 p.m. at the Couchiching Multi-Use Building. Cost is $15 per plate. Penny table raffle and 50/50 draw. The Rainy Lake Conservancy will hold its annual general meeting on Sunday, Aug. 12 starting at 2 p.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous. “Voices” Summer Camp 2018 will be held from Sunday, Aug. 12-Thursday, Aug. 16 at Quetico Centre. This free, five-day sleep-away camp experience is suitable for children up to age 16 (and their moms) who have experienced abuse in their own homes. Tea and scones are back every “Market Thursday” from June 28-Aug. 30. Come to the Fort Frances Museum from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. (back elevator entrance will be open), with admission being $5.
