“Tour de Fort” presents Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar today (Nov. 3) at 7:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre (doors open at 7 p.m.) Open to passport-holders only although watch its Facebook page or website ( regarding potential ticket availability the day of the show.

The Fort Frances Lakers will host the Thunder Bay North Stars in SIJHL action today (Nov. 3) at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students aged 13-17, and $5 for kids aged five-12 (those under five are admitted free).

The Alberton rec committee presents its annual “Holiday Bazaar” on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Alberton municipal office.

Tipping fees will be waived at the Fort Frances landfill on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for yard and garden waste only.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, Nov. 5. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night.

The annual Remembrance Day Tea will be held Sunday, Nov. 5 from 2-4 p.m. at the Legion. There will be baking, a candy table, cookie walk, cabbage rolls, meat pies, perogies, and numerous draws, as well as the new “Pick-A-Poppy.” A 50/50 draw also will be held. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children under seven.

Registration for Mighty Mustang Youth Wrestling will be held Monday, Nov. 13 and Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 6:15-6:45 p.m. at the Falls High School cafeteria in International Falls, with the fee being $75. The Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society will hold its annual meeting Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Emo Curling Club. There will be committee reports for 2017 as well as the election of officers and directors for 2018. Memberships for the coming year may be purchased for $10 each.

Knox United Church will hold a Christmas bazaar and luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. There also will be a bake table and cookie walk. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for kids aged five-12 (those four and under are free).

CUPE Local #65 will hold its annual retirement dinner and dance on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the local Legion. Cocktails are from 5:30-6:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 and the dance to follow.
