“Girls' Night Out” goes today (Nov. 15) at participating downtown merchants, with many staying open until 8 p.m.
In celebration of Louis Riel Day, a flag-raising ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Civic Centre, with a free luncheon to follow at the Sunset Country Métis Hall (714 Armit Ave.) All are welcome to attend.
The Fort Frances Lakers will host the Red Lake Miners in SIJHL action on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students, $5 for kids 12 and under, and free for those under five.
A Christmas luncheon and bake sale, also featuring a bake table and cookie walk, will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Knox United Church. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for kids aged five-12 (those four and under are free).
A Christmas tea will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 from 2-4 p.m. at St. John's Anglican Church. There also will be baking, meat pies, draws, mystery gifts, and miscellaneous items. Admission is $4/person, with kids under five being free. Everyone welcome.
CUPE Local 65 will hold its annual retirement dinner/dance on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the local Legion. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 and the dance to follow. The theme is “Rockin' through the Decades.” Tickets cost $20 for members (reimbursed at the door) and $23 for guests. A Christmas tea and bazaar, hosted by the C.W.L. of St. Mary's Parish, will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 from 2-4 p.m. There will be handmade crafts, draws, a silent auction, baked goods, and several tables, as well as a kids' zone. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children.

The SIJHL all-star game—featuring Team Canada vs. Team U.S.A.—will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. the Ice For Kids Arena.
