Stock car racing action goes today and tomorrow (Aug. 18-19) at the Emo Speedway as part of the Rea Memorial Weekend in conjunction with the Emo Fair. Hot laps are at 6 p.m., with the first race at 6:30 each night (weather permitting).

The Fort Frances Lions Club will hold its annual “Dandy Lion Festival” on Sunday, Aug. 20 from noon-3 p.m. at the Lions Millennium Park on Second Street East. There will be kids' activities, live entertainment, refreshments, and cake, as well as the laying of more bricks. All are invited to attend.
Town council will hold its next regular meeting Monday, Aug. 21 at the Civic Centre. It will follow the committee of the whole meeting, which starts at 5 p.m.

The final “Pop Up Play” event of the summer will be held Thursday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m.-noon at Point Park. It features free activities for kids, including soccer, a bean bag toss, parachute games, giant games, baseball, volleyball, scoops, skipping ropes, croquet, frisbee, and more.
