Trio to close ‘tour de Fort’ season
Wednesday, March 26, 2008
tour de Fort’s final performance of the 2007-08 season is set to rock the Townshend Theatre here this Sunday (March 30) at 7:30 p.m. with three Canadian artists who own the stage with their music and performing styles.
Guitarist and singer Matt Anderson, an East Coast Music Award nominee, fills the stage with his blues, roots, and rock hybrid. He’ll grab your attention the instant he picks up his guitar.
Dave Gunning, meanwhile, is a folk artist of international renown, combining his music with smooth comedy and story-telling.
Gunning is an East Coast Music Award winner with several recordings—the latest being “House for Sale.” He also appeared in the hit TV series “Trailer Park Boys” as a forest ranger.
Finally, Mike Stevens is a harmonica virtuoso. He’s been a regular on the Grand Ole Opry and a backer for top bluegrass bands.
An innovative performer, Stevens also is an author and appears in the movie “Harmonica Crossing.”
As well as performing internationally, Stevens is a social activist, sharing his music and experiences in youth programs in the remote communities of Quebec and northern Labrador.
The trio are tour de Fort’s season finale for this season—don’t miss this one!
In related news, passports for the 2008/09 season are now available for $110 each for six shows.
